I had been having some difficulty with the smaller size of my car, Excaliber (2007 Dodge Caliber SXT) for some time and had been thinking of trading up once it was paid off. Also, with the winter approaching, the thought of all wheel drive also became appealing. After a lot of research and some test drives, I settled on a 2011 Kia Sorento LX with the 3.5L V6 engine and AWD. It moves! There is no lack in the power department. Gas mileage has so far been ok (about 8.1L/100km last night, or 34-35mpg), though it is sort of hard to tell due to the wicked winds we’ve been having here this week.
Better yet, there is tons of room and a few nifty features inside (Bluetooth for my cell phone, an iPod connector, heated seats, Sirius satellite radio). And the day after I took it home I had to go out south of St. Gregor along some very muddy grid roads. One area in particular was rather bad, so I locked it into AWD and ploughed right through. Very nice!
Otherwise, the parishes are starting to kick into the busy mode as meetings and other programs start back up. Now if it would only stop raining for more than a day… :-)
